Back from Eastern Washington

As I noted on Saturday, this weekend we went to Spokane to visit the in-laws. Lucas and his uncle Stan went steelhead fishing. Unfortunately they didn't catch any.
Betty and Pam went shopping. While everyone was gone, I borrowed Pam and Stan's computer to check my e-mail and to set up a program that I wanted to show Stan.
Pam and Stan have a new high-definition television. When I turned it to the Seahawks game, it was rather disappointing to see in big high-definition lettering that the score was already 10-0 in favor of Chicago.
It's normally a four and a half to five hour drive between our home and Pam and Stan's home, so we left around 2:00 in the afternoon to head back home, and listened to the game on the radio. At about the time we were approaching Moses Lake, the game was ending. The score was 30 to 20 and it was the final two minutes of the game. Naturally, we were in the "fringe" zone between radio stations, so we had to struggle to hear the outcome while competing radio stations drowned out the game. Who wants to listen to some AM music station in the last minutes of a game while the opposing team has the ball, and they're known for explosive bursts of excellent play?
Frustrating, to say the least, that's what it was. I tried toggling between radio stations, since at that time we were just barely in range of two of them. Even so, we never did hear the last few seconds of the game. Still, with a 10 point lead in the final minutes, it's unlikely that the Bears were able to score twice and win. In fact, I've heard that the Seahawks won, but I STILL don't know what the final score was.
We shut off the radio in frustration and drove on into the darkening night. The temperature was dropping, and it was raining. Before we got to George there were snowflakes. By the time we had crossed the Columbia it was snowing, but not too badly. Less than a mile from Vantage though and it was snowing hard enough to start sticking on the roadway, even with the traffic. We averaged about 55mph the rest of the way to Snoqualmie pass.
We didn't want to get trapped on the pass unprepared, and fortunately Betty had thought to put the snow chains in the car before we left for Spokane. We stopped in Ellensburg to get gas, in case traffic over the pass was really bad. While we were there, I took a few pictures of the snow, and a video or two. Here's Lucas tossing a snowball in the parking lot.
The rest of the trip wasn't that bad. There were the occasional really slick spots and we saw the aftermath of a couple of accidents, but in general, once we got past Cle Elum, the roads were for the most part bare and wet. We got home without incident, if an hour or so later than we had expected.
So, does anyone know the final score of the game?
